Superoxide Dismutase and Catalase
« on: June 26, 2021, 12:26:47 AM »
I occasionally take Superoxide Dismutase (Cantaloupe extract) and/or Catalase (black mold extract) because I have experienced them as beneficial, in the short to medium term (not sure about long term). Me (and a big part of my mother‘s family) grey prematurely, so I figured I might have hereditary Catalase deficiency. Now that’s (as is often the case with me) based off a hunch and not on lab tests. But especially the Catalase seems to reduce my PEM, and it has a calming effect.

My question is: Would the SD or the Catalase stop the protocol from working as well, eg by stopping the immune response?

Sorry, don't know the answer. Never saw a Catalase supplement, would you be so kind and have a link to it?

Sure! Those are quite hard to find. I have this one: https://www.lepivits.be/en/specific-complex/68-catalase-lepivits-5414003136584.html

Individually, SOD might add extra h2o2 stress, but combined with catalase, this combination appears overall helpful and something I'll look into further.

It doesn't appear to be problematic for the protocol in the manner you've described, but untested. Thanks for sharing!
NB. I am NOT a doctor and all information provided is for educational purposes only.

Please consult your physician before attempting anything you read here.

Ok, thanks again :) Once I progress further with the protocol I should be able to provide more n=1 data on how these work for me.
